She's known for keeping her focus both on the gutter, and the stars.
A writer once from west London, now based in east Berlin. For all bookings and commissions, she can be reached here.
Supersensual is her newsletter. She previously worked as a copyeditor and stand-up comic for queer revues (hired worldwide in both roles). These days she writes a lot for pay—yet still both devotionally, and compulsively.
Her published books are: Listening Like A Girl (November 2026), Hermaphrodite Logic (June 2025) and the anthology Transgender Marxism (May 2025). She has several more in the works (which you can check out here.)

More precisely:
Promiscuous between philosophy and history, Juliana's writing also works through a broad array of themes: social revolution, the feminine, inferential pragmatics, communist philosophy, intersex history, leather culture, endocrine politics, communal rationalism, Pittsburgher Hegelians, virtue ethics, ethical breakdowns, lesbian break-ups, and more besides.
Through all this thematic ranging, Juliana's writing is defined by some consistent stylistic choices: into em dashes before they were uncool, with a pronounced commitment to two word titles. As well as a love of assonance, alongside alternating dryness and grandiosity.
Besides books, her writing has appeared in a startling array of publications: from scholarly reviews, to poetry zines, to a (notorious) interview with Judith Butler in a US-British tabloid.

Increasingly this diverse medley has distilled into two key concerns: the expressive nature of sex, and how all our senses co-mingle with the supersensual. Juliana has variously described her method as sensory philosophy, or sex expressivism, or sensual formalism, or the history of gossip.
(This blog would otherwise have been called Expressing Sex, has the algorithms not frowned upon the s-word!)

Besides writing. Juliana is fond of cast-iron kettlebells, tasteful lighting, Soviet cinema, early industrial, and cemetery strolls.
